Interesting Communities to visit in Thailand - Part 2

If we categorize the communities in Thailand by ethnicity or religious, there are 4 majors groups of people who had moved from their own countries and settle here; Christians, Muslims, Chinese, Indian.

Muslim Community in Thailand

Muslim from many regions such as Middle East( such as Arab, Persia), Cambodia, South Asia ( such as India, Pakistan), Sumatra, Malaga, Southern part of China had moved and settled in Thailand for more than 200 years ago. Nowadays, there are approximately 7 Million Muslims in Thailand where we can find their communities throughout the country;  in the North of 1% (such as Cheing-Mai), in the North Eastern of 1%, in the Central Part of 8%( such as Ayudhaya) , Bangkok of 10% (such as Mahanak, Klongtan) and in the South of 80%( such as Songla).

Christians Community in Thailand

In the ancient time more than 200 years ago, Portuguese came to Thailand to disseminate their religion, to trade or to be militiamen.

There are the recommend Christians Communities in Thailand for tourist to visit as below;

Chinese Community in Thailand

Chinese and Thai relationship has been continued for 1000s years. Since Sukhothai Period , most of Chinese merchant came here for trading and then settled. Chinese has been influenced in Thai history, culture and economy. Nowadays, there are recommend Chinese community in Thailand for tourist to visit as below;

1. Paknamphoa – Nakorn-Sawan
2. Yaowarat – Bangkok
3. Hadyai – Songla
4. Phuket
5. China Town – Rachaburi
6. Pakpreak Community - Kanjanaburi
7. Chinese Yoonan Community - Chaing- Mai (1/3 is Muslim)

Indian (Brahman - Hindu) community in Thailand

Many Indians had moved and settled in Thailand for thousand years. As a result, they have been influenced in Thai cultural and believe. There are recommend Indian community in Thailand where the tourist should visit;

3  Vishnu Temple , Yanawa - Bangkok
4. Brahman Community Thanon Dinsoa , Wat Suthat - Bangkok

All in all, because of different culture and believe, each four major communities  has different charming and interesting way of life which tourist as you should visit.
