Interesting communities to visit in Thailand Part 1

Thousands of tourists come to visit Thailand for delicious food, historical sites, massage, colorful cultures, gorgeous natural scenery and various kinds of awesome hotels with cheap price. However, there are communities with different and unique living style located in this country waiting for the tourist as you to visit.

Firstly the Fishermen village, there many fishermen villages throughout the country but the recommend are in Cha-Um, Chantaburi province , Chumporn and Samui.  In the villages, there are home stay or nearby cheap hotel for you to stay overnight. Therefore, you can spend time as long as you want to feel and enjoy learning the fishermen way of life as well as breathe fresh air, eat fresh fish and also admire the nice scenery while you are sailing.

There are also the Shanty Boaters ( house on a raft), this kind of community is rarely to find in Thailand in this time but there are a lot of this community , mostly in Bangkok and other provinces located near the river, in the ancient time. However,  Shanty Boaters community still exists in Thailand at Uthaithani Province , Sakrakang River named” Chom Chon Chaw Pae  Mae Nam Sakrakang”. In this community , there are 200 houses built on rafts

Regarding to the fishermen village, there is the only one floating school in the country located in the northern part of Thailand at Lum-poon province. The school name is “Ban-Kor- Jadsan Floating Branch”. This school was established in 1994 in order to educate the unprivileged kids for their elementary education. Because the kids live very far from the city, they can’t go studying in the city school. In 2012, there were 5 students with different grade study together with the only one teacher.

Secondly The Morgan ( islander), they live in islands in southern part of Thailand , Andaman Sea area. Most of their time is spent on the ship sailing in the sea but during May to November, they will move to live in the island to avoid the storm.

Thirdly the tribesman village, In Thailand there are around 11 groups of tribesman living in the northern part of the country ; Akah,Lahu,Mong,Dara-Ang,Haw,Lishu,Yao,Tai Yai,Kachins, Karen,Mlabri  These 11 groups have different culture and tradition which you should visit and get to know each of them. At present, some of tribesman for 11 groups live in The Royal Project Foundation in Cheing-Mai province ,Cheing- Rai  province , Payao Province, Nan Province , Prae Province. 

There is another tribesman group called “ Kuy” who migrated from Cambodia to Thailand during 1702-1803. At present, they are in the north-eastern part of Thailand.
