Thai Classical Dances

 Thai Classical Dance style is define by regions of Thailand. Therefore, there are a lot of the dance styles as below;


Northern part dances

Because of the cold weather and the slow way of life, the style of dancing in this region is in slow, sweet and tender rhyme. Moreover, this region dancing is also influenced from  hill tribes communities, Myanmar, Lao and China.

Most of the northern dancing shows arm,wrist and finger with long nails movement  while the dancer wearing dress reflect the culture influenced.


North-eastern part dances
 As the north-eastern part is the most dry region of the country, the style of dancing is designed to reflect how struggle people are and add more fun in the dancing rhyme.

The dancing style is in the quick movement with showing movement of hand,hip and legs. Some of dancing ,the dancer has to hold or play with  working equipments as a dancing accessory.

Southern part dances
This part influenced from Malaysia and most of the people in this region are active and quick moving ,therefore, this region's dance is in the quick rhyme.

The dancing style shows the quick movement of all the whole body especially a neck and arms. it also shows strength of legs too.


Central part dances
 As this region is the most plentifully part of the country, its dancing style is very rich and various. This region dancing style is mixed between many region together and develop a new one so there are both quick and slow dances. 

The dance show movement of arm , hand , leg and the whole body.

Thai Boxing is one of the famous sport in Thailand. For this sport you have to apply all organ of the entire body to be fighting weapon.

Thai boxing has been taught and play since 1000 years ago. People had been train and apply this material art to fight during the war or to fight to protect the king.Thai boxing has become popular since king rama the V reign.

Nowsday, there are two standard stage for Thai boxing fighting in bangkok name "lumpini stage" and ratchadumneon stage

26 Kwajarue-Dengsa (The innocence) - The story is about a very young and rich girl had affair with a very young boy , then she got pregnant. They moved out from their family to live suffering together until the boy addicted to drug and a girl entered to prostitution and finally death.

/27 Nam- Phu - The life of the young boy grown up from a broken family and be a drug addicted and finally pass away. I bet your eyes are gonna be full with tears because of this movie.

28 That's lady named " Boon ruad" - This movie is very old which i saw it around 20 years ago but it has good story ; the love of a Thai girl who was born with dignity and an American soldier who came to Thailand during Vietnam War.

29 Pee Sua Lae Dok Mai ( Butterly&flowers) - From this movie, you can see the life aspect of poor Muslim kids.

Thai Movies Recommend Part 5

21 Suriyothai - This movie is the about the history during early Ayudhaya Period . At that moment, the Kingdom was just recovered from a failure commanding of the royal mistress - Srisuda Jan and it was just governed by the new king. However, the Kingdom had to face with the Burmese intrusion and this became a battle between the 2 kingdoms. During this battle, the queen as a soldier sacrificed herself to this battle. ( this legend was occurred before the reign of King Naraesuan and the queen in this movie is king naraesuan's grandma ).

22 Tawi-Pop - This movie is based on Thai famous author's novel. The story is about love between a decent lady in this modern world with a high rank officer in King Rama V reign ( about 100 years ago).

23 Aumong-Phamuang - This movie is about the investigation of a prince murdered case to find out who was the killer. This story was modified from Mr. Kurosawa movie named " Rachomon"

24 Pleng Sud Thay - In my opinion, it is the best movie to represent lady boy life.

25  6:66 - a reporter found many strange things about death like her dad commit suicide but he did not die, her car crash very hard on a man who was supposed to die but he did not. Someone may try to do something to cheat the death cycle but who is that ??????????. In my opinion, this movie makes me think a lot about the death before the time  and at the right time.

16. King Naraesuan 1-6 - The movie based on Thai history about our great king who were living during  early Ayudhaya period . The gorgeously scenes ,  historical anecdote and life aspect of this movie are worth watching.

17. Seia Dai - The movie reflected the society problem that girls are raped , drug addicted and lost their bright future.

18. Plea Kao - The movie is about a beautiful lady who have to choose between her real love and good future with better status in society

19 Kroa Toa  - The Autobiography of  the great and famous monk of Thailand

 20  Petchakart -  The story of the last executioner of Thailand which u may smell and feel prison!!!!!!!!

11 The leap years - Two strangers accidentally met but they promised to meet again in every 4 year ,on 29th of February. This movie was so romantic with a bit of sorrow.

12 Sam Ba La - Two brothers who is completely different personality are going to Tibet together as their love inspires them to go there.

13 4bia - A horror movie consists of 4 part of different stories

14- Shutter - The most hunted movie that i've seen. This movie about a guy and his gang committed a crime and this is about time for him and the gang to pay back

15 Kid thung Wittaya ( the teacher diary) - Two teachers taught in floating school in a different period of time but by reading diary, they are in love. This movie is so sweet , touching and deep which you have to watch.

9 Me, Myself - The movie is about a boy who was raised by a group of lady boys. He was grown up as a show girl ( lady boy) but one day, he got accident and lost his memories . After that his lady boy life was over . The interesting part is how he will live his life after waking up from the accident? .

10. Happy Birthday - Two strangers are in loved by the alphabet but the tragedy happen after that........

This movie is very deep and touchy , may be it can make you cry.
